Macro photography is an exciting segment of photography and can be very rewarding if done properly. Below, I have a few things you will start with notes about each listed.
1. Macro lens. Many cameras let your focus so that you are very close to your subject, you can use a macro lens focus much closer, and should You get a 1:1 ratio, where your subject exactly the same size as the image. Most manufacturers produce lenses Macro lenses in a 100mm 105mm length or, and some have 150mm or 200mm lens. The advantage of the longer lens is that you do not need to be so close to your subject, get the 1:1 ration. This can be advantageous in the host animals or subjects that move. Most have connectors for underwater housing 100/105mm lenses.
2. Tripod. Because you are focused so close are to your subject, your depth of field will be very low. To counter this, you have to shoot at F16 or higher, which means your shutter speed is very slow be. This mandates a tripod. A tripod will also help in setting up your shot. Remove all columns and assembly center your head as close to the tripod will help you as possible low to the ground as possible. Some tripods allow the center column and turn reduce the camera all the way to the floor. This is helpful, but can be awkward because your Camera to the head. Some stands are extended so that their legs flat constructed, which is perfect for macro photography.
3. Flash. With a small depth of field and large aperture, you have to add in as much light as possible to your image, and this is where your Flash comes in. You can use a standard flash on the camera sitting, or a ring flash that attaches to your lens use and gives you light from all angles. Alternatively, you can also find a bar that allows you to use two flashes (one on each side of the camera)
4. Remote trigger for your flash. Attach one end of the cable to your flash shoe on the camera, and the other to your flash and voila! You can now find out you want your flash. Try to create your flash at different angles and power settings in multiple ways.
5. Reflectors. Reflectors are flexible, coated disks, which are usually colored and was intended to reflect light where you want it. I usually carry at least one small in my bag especially for macro. They fold into almost nothing and are easy to store flat. I like one with a "soft gold" coating and often set they flower, to reflect light to below the flower. Usually brings light to the stem and base of the flower more depth. It's a subtle thing and can to bring your images to the next level.
6. Flash Diffuser. These soften the light from your flash to help you can make your images a natural look. Most diffusers are white, but you can also color of your Flash movie to bring some colors in your image.
7. Remote control for your camera. Some cameras use a cable release, while others use a wireless remote control. Either one you can solve the shutter without moving the camera. Given the very long shutter speeds, these help to reduce motion blur. Alternatively, some cameras a 2 second timer, which can also be used to eliminate Camera movement.
8. Between rings or tubes. These are the rings of different thickness, which attach between your lens and camera. You do not have any glass in them, But should electronic connectors. They let you focus even closer than your lens would normally do.
9. Macro focusing rail. As the lens, the magnification changes focus. In some cases it may be best to move the focus and the camera until you have the desired subject in focus. Mount You focus your camera on the rail, and then bring the rail to the tripod. The rail allows the camera you in very small steps to move to your subject in the Center back.
This may sound like much, but once you have something of this device in your pocket, you will reach for it all the time. There may be some Exercise, coordinate the tripod, flash and reflector, but if you get it down, watch your macro shots to improve dramatically.
